How to Hire Carwash Employees

Episode 9
The How of Carwashing Podcast
Guest: Steve Gaudreau
Topic: Hiring Wash Employees

Employee turnover is one of the biggest challenges a carwash operator or manager faces. It's important to look at it as a continuous process, which does not end at the hire.

If you can improve the quality of your new hires (i.e. they are a fit for your wash and they stay with you longer than most employees), then you are able to realize significant savings and improvement in productivity, efficiency and customer service.

If you implement a process and leverage tested tools and techniques during the screening process, you will significantly improve the quality of employees you hire. You should also consider leveraging assessment tools, the results of which you then compare to a baseline for your ideal employee at your carwash.

Steve Gaudreau is a carwash industry expert, and a consultant for car wash operators. In this episode, he shares his experience and stories from actual successful wash operators who have significantly improved the hiring process at their locations.
